Temple trip: Vereeniging

We spent the first few days of our holiday in Vereeniging with Andrew's brother and his family. Thank you very much Wayne and Louise for your hospitality - we really enjoyed our time with you!

The first afternoon we were there Joshua went exploring the garden... You can see how bundled up he was though - it was really cold that first day!
He really liked the red sand that they have in Gauteng... And he came inside covered in it!

On the Saturday the whole family went to a birthday party, with the theme of the 1920's. So here they all are dressed up. Good looking family, don't you think ;o) We stayed home and had a relaxing evening, which we enjoyed very much too.
As always, Joshua found a place to play peek-a-boo. It remains one of his favourite games!
He's also getting very "helpful" when you're cooking... We were peeling potatoes the one evening, and all he wanted to do was join in the fun!

You can see in the background of this photo their dog, Yoda. He's a very small little dog (don't ever ask me dog breeds - I'm clueless...) and Joshua really liked having a dog smaller than him. He also enjoyed their two big dogs, but Yoda was a special friend. I never managed to get a nice photo of them interacting together, but here you can see how Yoda was looking VERY longingly at Joshua's food the one evening...

And then the day we left Vereeniging Wayne dropped us off to hire a car for the rest of the trip, and while we were transferring luggage Joshua found his way into the driver's seat of Wayne's car. He looks like he's going to enjoy driving one day!
So again, thank you Wayne and Louise and family for giving us some space in your life. It was really nice to be part of family life for a couple days.
