We left very early on the Friday morning, and I just loved our plane!
Not only was it early, but it was also really cold! While we were flying over the Cape mountains we saw lots of snow! And then when we got to Vereeniging to stay with Andrew's brother they told us that there was also snow on the Drakensberg, so we arrived to 0 degrees (at 9:00 in the morning) and by midday it had only warmed up to about 10 degrees. So for all of those living in snow countries, I know you're laughing at us, but it was cold for us, okay!
Travelling at the same time as us, but on lots of different flights, were the British and Irish Lions supporters. They were everywhere in Cape Town and Joburg, mostly in their red jackets. Joshua decided to go walking at the airport, and you can see some of them in the background. There were literally hundreds all together! How do people have money to come and follow a tour like that? I don't know... But I hope they enjoyed South Africa.
We spent the first four nights with Wayne and Louise in Vereeniging, then we went on to the temple accommodation (which was actually Duke's Court, for those familiar with the area etc) and spent four nights there. We also saw Andrew's aunt and uncle, and all of my mom's family. I'll be doing separate posts for all of these things, but here are just a couple photos of Joshua's cuteness while we were at Duke's Court.
He has decided that he wants a hand in anything that's happening in the kitchen. If I'm cooking I have to lift him up to see what's happening in the pot, and he usually wants to help stir - my willingness for that depends on what's cooking... But here he was baking with Cindy...
And then when we were cleaning up the flat before we left he wanted to help with that too. Hopefully this helpfulness with all things housework will long continue!
We arrived home on the Saturday afternoon, and although it was a wonderful trip - being in the temple and seeing family - it was SO good to be back home!
