We have a big corner cupboard in our bedroom and kitchen where there is actually space to step inside. Joshua loves getting into the pantry cupboard and taking things off the shelves and passing them to me... And the bedroom cupboard has all of my shoes at the bottom that he loves to play with...
But this morning he did something new. Andrew and I were getting dressed and Joshua was playing in the cupboard with the door wide open, and then he stepped inside and pulled the door closed behind him... I was expecting him to get upset with being in the dark, and probably not knowing to push the door open to get out. But after about 5 seconds he pushes the door open and just has a slightly confused/worried look on his face and steps out. He was completely fine.
And of course this was now a game, so he kept on trying to get back into the cupboard again. He didn't manage to close it completely again - he was holding the door so it wouldn't close, but he was having great fund playing peek-a-boo. And he's also figured out how to open the cupboard door by pulling underneath the door (the handle is still way to high for him, and there isn't space for his fingers on the side of the door). So now we have to be very worried about squashed fingers - but there really isn't much we can do about it...
