Tongue wagging

Joshua started this cute thing today of moving his tongue from side to side, and making a little noise while he's doing it. It's SO cute! And if I do it for him to see me now, he copies it straight away, but it was all started by him...

And then this evening after supper we were in our bedroom, and Joshua started playing hide and seek with me. I was lying on my stomach on the bed, so that he couldn't see me if he was on the floor, but then he'd pull himself up so that I could see his face. Then he'd go back down on the floor and move to another part of the bed and come up again... And he was also moving to all three sides of the bed, so really being very inventive. And of course this was just he funniest thing for him, so he's laughing, almost hysterically, the whole time. And it was great, cos I could just lie and relax a bit the whole time, knowing that he couldn't really hurt himself at all! Fantastic!
And he was also playing hide and seek with himself, standing up against the mirror...He's cruising along the furniture really well now, so I'm pretty sure he'll be walking by his birthday in 3 weeks time. Then the next chapter begins.

Joshua also really loves books. Even books that don't have pictures he just loves holding them, and "paging" through them - so moving a whole pile of pages at one time. On Monday I was busy making supper in the kitchen, and then I realised that Joshua wasn't in the room anymore, and very quiet. So I poked my head around, and there he was by the bookshelf, with one of his books on his lap (and it was even the right way up) and he was talking quietly to himself like he was reading... By the time I got my camera he'd changed books to a colouring book, and I didn't manage to catch him with the book open (of course) But isn't he just so cute!
