HOT!!!

I can't WAIT for winter to come! We're in March, and this heat wave just doesn't want to leave! We were having temperatures in the high 30's and into the 40's the end of last week, and I still don't think we've had a day that's stayed below 30 this week yet... And the nights don't get cooler than 20 degrees... I think all of us have had ENOUGH now!

And along with the heat the fires in and around Cape Town haven't stopped either. I think they were fighting fires in Somerset West for nearly a solid month... And of course there were other fires starting all over the place, including in informal settlements. So there is going to be lots of scarring from this summer...

This photo I took on my way into work yesterday, and I was just struck by how funny the mountain was looking... Normally in the early morning every detail is crystal clear. But yesterday the mountain looked almost faint, and very hazy... I think there's just so much smoke and haze all over the place that nothing seems the same.
