Joshua's development - 11 months

This is more for my recording of Joshua's development in the annuls of time... And I don't have any specific photos...

So Joshua will be 11 months on Tuesday, which means that my cousin Ross will be 1. Happy Birthday! And it's also my cousin, Shawn's last day on mission. Wow! What a day! (Good luck to Shawn for coming back home and settling into normal life again)

Joshua is on the verge of standing on his own now... He really only gives a cursory grip to whatever happens to be closest, and he has a few times momentarily been unassisted while he stands - but more by chance than by his ability, so I'm not counting that yet...

He's now got 4 teeth - so at least he's even! He's done the traditional cutting, of the middle two at the bottom, and the middle two at the top. He's been struggling with the teething a bit more now, because three of them are coming out at the same time.

Some of the cute things that Josh is doing are:

• When you're dressing him, he's been helping put his arms through the sleeves for a while, but now when you undress him once his arms are out he wants to pull his shirt off over his head - and if his head weren't so big he might even manage on his own!
• With the whole bee thing that was happening we were shaking out all of the blankets to check that there were no dead bees, and he thought this was the funniest thing - so now whenever he gets a chance he'll shake out whatever he can get his hands on
• He'll copy most movements that you do with your arms, if you look at him, and show him that it's something fun for him to do
• He's started to help us packing away his toys - we still do most of it of course, and if he happens to get something that he's interested in in his hands, then he gets distracted, but he gets a lot of things into whatever box we're packing
• He's really enjoying giving hugs, and likes to snuggle into your shoulder, or whatever's handy. And if he's sitting on the couch or bed he'll often lean forward and snuggle into the cushions - it's so cute to see!
• And those big open mouthed kisses that you get at this stage... This morning in Primary Andrew popped in, and Joshua crawled over to him, climbed onto his lap (ie showed very clearly where he wanted to be...) and then just gave Andrew a huge kiss - completely out of the blue. Very cute!

So that's what my cute boy is doing right now... I'm sure there are other things - but you know how it is - when you sit down to try and record something you will forget some things... But that's just how it goes, I guess.
