Caleb moments - September 2013 (18 - 19 months)

Caleb is now on to 3 word sentences, like “I pour milk” (when he had messed his milk on the couch)

He now has definite names for a few more people. Dada has become daddy. Mama is me. Nana is Hannah. Do is Josh. Caca is Uncle Andrew. Rara is granny. Gaga is grandpa.

Whenever I arrive to fetch him he picks up a few toys around me to show me all proudly what he's been playing with.

He sometimes gets it into his head to walk sideways or backwards around the house.

When we called the kids to come and kneel next to the bed to pray Caleb was the first to come, and he knelt and folded his arms beautifully! I just hope it always lasts!

Caleb has very definite ideas about how he likes to work things! When I drop him off in the morning he wants to climb out the car himself, carry his lunch bag to the gate (and if it’s not straight or upright when he puts it down he'll put it right), then I must lift him up to push the button and he pushes the gate open and walks in all by himself carrying his bag. So grown up!

Caleb came and asked me for the little vacuum cleaner. I had no idea why, but when I followed him I found that he had spilled some biscuit crumbs, and he wanted to clean them up!

Of his own accord he has started participating in our family scripture reading. Now we also give him a phrase, a word at a time, to say, and he says it after us.

His latest phrases are Up down (which are used in just about any context) and, My dada, my Nana, my Joh. I haven't heard My mama yet...

Trying to swim in the bath!
And then he spotted the water going down the drain - new interesting thing...
Joshua's swimming teacher has a granddaughter a few months younger than Caleb, and there definitely seems to be a little romance going on there!

Yes, of course I've unpacked every single pot and pan!
Such a cute bum!

Looking at the mapbook all intelligently... He also enjoyed actually paging through it!
