Over the 4 years that followed we had many interesting times with Bertie... Here are just a few...
When he still had a tail... In later years he never managed to keep his tail feathers... And of course food was ALWAYS a priority!
One of the few baths he ever had. These are probably my favourite photos of Bertie.
That fan! Once he discovered that there was a "mirror" on it, it became his favourite place!
I'd forgotten about this until I spent some time looking through old photos. But this was a major expedition!
Okay, so some of you may have thought that Bertie has died, based on the tone of this post, but that's not the case. We unfortunately reached a stage in our family's progression where it was becoming a problem having Bertie - for his safety and for Joshua's. Joshua was getting more and more mobile, and able to reach Bertie's cage and he was doing a good job at trying to get bitten. So we approached Colleen and Rohan and they very kindly agreed to give Bertie a new home.
So last month we made the move, and this was Bertie's last time at home...
He coped with the car trip reasonably well...
And here is his new family!
Thank you Colleen and Rohan for so kindly taking in our first "baby".

I wondered what was coming...
Hello Bertie, and perhaps I'll see you sometime in your new home?
I enjoy your posts Shelly!
I miss the pigeon... :-)
