Hannah's 3rd birthday

My Hannah is 3 years old! Like all parents, I can't figure out where the time has gone!

We had a party for the family last week, then it was her birthday on Friday, and we had a party for her school friends yesterday. I think that she had a really good time overall!

She is Hello Kitty crazy, so everything had to be Hello Kitty. The cake for the family party. I painted food colouring on fondant to do it, and it's actually chocolate brownies, instead of cake. But it was good! Josh helped painting the flower and the dress.
Hannah was willing to pose with the cake...
... but then wanted to turn it so that she was actually looking at it!
Opening up presents. This is something we see often - Josh doing something or showing something, and Hannah completely absorbed in what he's doing.
Hannah's two favourite presents were nail polish and lipstick (actually lip gloss) The nail polish was just about finished by the end of the day, thankfully!
Josh even wanted to do her nails a bit!
Opening other presents.
 Back to the nail polish...
She did my nails as well... I kept it on for church the next day...
Lip gloss on a necklace. Can it get any better?
Then for her actual birthday we made cupcakes for her to take to school
And then opening presents from all of us
Her requests for presents included lipstick, nail polish and a phone... So we managed to arrange all 3.
 Such excitement!
For her school party I did the cake a bit differently. I decided to actually colour the fondant this time, and then layer it.
And then I got a candy pen to do the outlines. I'm pretty proud of how it came out, I must admit :)
We got a jumping castle that had a ball pond on one side. A huge hit! And we were blessed with AMAZING weather for the middle of May! Josh and Hannah of course wanted to get into the middle of things as soon as the castle was set up!
And they didn't want to KNOW about leaving their party boxes alone!
Then the kids arrived. We just had 7 kids, so it was nice and small. And one of them is actually Joshua's best friend, but his sister is in Hannah's class, and she was very insistent that Dane AND Emily must come to her party! But it meant Josh had his special friend there too, which worked out great.
The exclusive dad's club :)
We gave them cupcakes to decorate themselves, which the kids really enjoyed!
Look, Mom!
Caleb decided that I needed to share his chips, so he fed me about half of them!
Singing to the birthday girl
And then we got to play on the jumping castle for a while after the kids had all left, and Grandpa even came over to join us!
I think it was a really great birthday for Hannah!

But I am glad we don't have another kid's birthday until February! ;o)
