Our new baby

Okay, I've kept it in long enough, and now it's official after a visit to the doctor today...

So I'm officially 11 weeks pregnant, due 23 May 2010.

Our little baby is about 4 cm long, and as our domestic worker said, looks more like a spider ;o) But there's a good strong heart beat, and it even kicked its little legs and waved its arms when the doctor did some encouraging.

So we're very excited about this new addition to our family. Of course Joshua doesn't understand, especially seem as there's no tummy yet to see, but at his new day mother there are a couple babies and by all accounts he's very good with them, so hopefully this won't be as bad a shock as it could be... But I know that it's going to be a bit of a rocky road. Joshua will be just over 2 when this baby is born, so a nice age gap, but a difficult age.

So how's my pregnancy being treating me so far? Well, I've been really tired - which is the main reason that you haven't heard much from me recently (but I have taken photos, so there will be posts when I have a chance...) - and I've had the normal nausea. There are good days and bad days... Today's an okay day. And my body is just feeling the strain in general, but I did know that was going to happen, so I've only got myself (and Andrew) to blame...

The other thing that's happening is that we're having building work done on our house. The garage that has stood full of junk for nearly 2 years has been emptied, and right now there are builders turning it into a room that will become our new study. (I've been taking lots of progress photos, so details to follow) Our existing study will then be Joshua's new room, and the baby will be in the nursery where Joshua has been, which is right next to our room. The building work is progressing well, and should definitely be finished by the end of November, and then we're hoping to move around the rooms so that Joshua can be in his big boy room with a good few months to go before the baby comes. That way hopefully it can just be an exciting change and there won't be any resentment.

So big exciting changes for the Herbert family. Hopefully I'll have the energy to keep you regularly updated.

SOOO exciting. I am glad it's not a secret anymore. LOL..
I hope he/she treats you well through your pregnancy. Luke wasn't the friendliest. :D
We are spacing our kids out quite well. Joshua is just over a year older than Luke and Luke will be just over a year older than your 'spider'. See you in just over a month. I arrive on 4 Dec.
